At the heart of each model, this is what you’ll find when you lift the hood and kick the tires.

Summary of This Radio Controlled Truck/Car Platform

Quite possibly the toughest most durable RC car ever built. Upgrades well, and plenty of options for performance upgrades. As another custom truck build, it required adjustable mounts. This JConcepts gem is well-shaped to resemble this old-school model truck – well done! The street version – Big Red – utilizes different bumpers that certainly weren’t going to work for off-roading.  I integrated the front and rear bumpers, and adjusted the suspension for high-speed grass/dirt driving.  This speedy two-tone just whips and zips, plus it bounces on the front or back bumper without scratching the body.

Don’t rush the cut! When I mounted the body, as Murphy’s Law would have it, the fenders dropped directly on top of the bumpers.  Instead of replacing the heavy-duty Traxxas bumpers, I opted for a nice integration.  When you’re doing some heavy fitting – TAKE YOUR TIME!  Do not rush it, and definitely don’t do it in one cut, or you’ll rely on luck for a great job.  Do your cuts in a few passes, and keep testing the whole time.
